Math Acceleration at Open Window

Open Window School accelerates math instruction one grade level ahead of the students’ chronological grade. For instance, kindergarten follows the first-grade curriculum, and this pattern continues throughout lower school. By the end of lower school (fourth grade), our students have completed the fifth-grade curriculum, placing them well ahead of their peers. Furthermore, our teachers continuously differentiate instruction to meet the unique needs of each student.

In middle school, our educators remain responsive to individual class needs. Students here engage in math courses that uncover sixth-grade content, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2, providing the opportunity to earn one to three high school math credits by the end of eighth grade, depending on the student's readiness and progress.
